Status of the Investment Fund

The fund was incorporated in January 2001. The investment fund adopted a passive approach and has not aggressively sought out potential applicants for funding. The fund believes that when industry conditions are favourable, entrepreneurs acting in their own best interests will submit proposals. The fund further believes that this approach will result in projects with a greater probability of long run viability. This approach also recognizes that there may be relatively long periods of time between investments by the fund. As at December 31, 2005, there was approximately $5.2 million available for investment. The fund intends to continue with the passive approach and future activities will involve making certain that all major funding agencies and potential processors are aware of the fund.
