The fund is intended to undertake a wide range of activities to further the development of the industry. This includes, but is not limited to, funding research on any aspect of the production chain that has potential benefit for the Saskatchewan industry, market research to identify new markets or products and general promotional activities such as funding conferences and scholarships. The fund is open to proposals and suggestions for projects from all industry participants and will seek out proponents to further develop promising suggestions. Projects supported by SCIDF must have a direct impact on the chicken industry in Saskatchewan. Projects with immediate practical application to the industry are preferred.
