Saskatchewan Chicken Industry Development Fund (SCIDF)

Development Fund Approval Process and Deadlines

Proposals should include a general description of the project, its' objectives, the importance of the project for the Saskatchewan industry, cost estimates and timelines. Proposals will be reviewed by the fund administrator and then forwarded to the Board of Directors. Depending on the nature of the proposal and the magnitude of funds requested, additional information could be requested from the proponents at any stage of the process.

Applied Poultry Production Research and Market Development Projects

An application for funding can be obtained from the SCIDF office.

  • requests in excess of $10,000 will be reviewed on a bi- annual basis. The closing dates for applications are January 1 and June 30 of each year. Applicants will be notified of the status of their applications within 60 days of the closing date
  • requests for less than $10,000 will be reviewed at regular Board meetings held no less than quarterly. Applicants will be notified shortly after the Board's review of the application.
  • multi-year projects are approved on a year by year basis based on progress reports from the investigator.
  • successful applicants will be required to provide regular progress reports in accordance with SCIDF’s reporting requirements and comply with any other conditions the Board may impose.
  • results of the project are to be presented to producers at the SCIDF Annual Meeting in March.

General Promotional Activities

  • applications will be reviewed and funds disbursed on a “first come – first served” basis.
  • applicants should provide a brief (1 to 2 page) description of the activity or event including the purpose of the activity, the proposed date and location, the anticipated number of participants, the expected outcomes, how SCIDF’s contribution will be recognized and any other information that applicants feel will add to the Board’s understanding of the proposal.
  • applicants will be advised within 60 days whether or not a proposal has been approved for funding.
  • SCIDF’s funds will be provided after the activity has taken place and an invoice and a report in the form outlined in Reporting Requirements for Recipients of SCIDF Promotional Grants.
